Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel

Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Project Monitoring, Mr. Patrick Tom, has been captured on video buying Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in his native Offi-Uda community in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The video clip has been independently verified by our editorial crew.
The incident took place on Thursday after the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, visited the area to canvass support for the governor. It was gathered that Mr. Tom paid between N1000 and N2000 per PVC. The exercise was held in virtually all the polling units in Mbo.
Our correspondent gathered that the issue has been officially reported by eyewitnesses at the Mbo Divisional Police Station. Mbo is regarded as a stronghold of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) which seeks to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Days before last Saturday’s postponed Presidential and National Assembly elections, facts emerged that the PDP in Akwa Ibom State went on a PVC buying spree.
Amount ranging from N5,000 to N10,000 was paid for each PVC across the 31 Local Government Areas.
