One of the socio-political organizations in support of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, Buhari Youth Organisation (BYO), Akwa Ibom state Chapter, has been inaugurated with Otuekong (Barr.) Bassey Effiong as the State Coordinator.
Performing the inauguration on Friday, August 21, 2015, at Samlaw Hotel, Uyo the state’s capital, the National President of the group, Prince Mohammed Umar, who, according to the group, was representing their Grand Patron, President Buhari, assured Nigerian youths of the determination of Mr. President to give them a sense of belonging. He further reiterated the presidency’s resolve to confront the looters of Nigeria’s economy through his anti-corruption crusade, while assuring of proper development of all sectors of the nation’s economy.
Other officers of the BYO sworn- in were Hon. Clement Awakessien as Deputy State Coordinator 1; Mr. David Ekefre, Deputy State Coordinator 11 and Barr. Edet Essien as Secretary.
Others were Mr. Joseph Oworen, Assistant Secretary; Mr. Charles Ebongho, Youth Leader; while Mr. Joseph Udaha, Mrs. Lizzy Mesembe and Mr. Michael Akpabio are to serve as Assistant Youth Leader, Woman Leader and Publicity Secretary, respectively.
Mr. Asher Udoh and Barr. Anietie Etuk are to serve as Organising Secretary and Legal Adviser respectively, while Mr. Bassey Mbah was sworn-in as Treasurer and Miss Mfon Lawson as the Financial Secretary of the organization.
Responding on behalf of the newly sworn-in executive, the State Coordinator of BYO, Otuekong (Barr.) Bassey Effiong, thanked the National President and his entourage for personally gracing the occasion and expressed the chapter’s unalloyed loyalty to the tenets of Buhari Youth Organisation. While maintaining that a new dawn has come to Akwa Ibom State to give the youths the much needed change, the state BYO’s helmsman enjoin all to support the administration of President Buhari.
