The Member representing Uyo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon (Sir) Emmanuel Ekpenyong, has assured that the All Progressives Congress, (APC), would win in many States of the Federation in the 2015 General Elections.

The National Assembly man who stated this while playing host to his constituents at his Uyo residence recently, also said that his Party shall win the 2015 Presidential polls.

He maintained that the successful merger of the opposition Parties in the country was historic and that the massive defection of the ruling Party members to the APC was a good omen for the country’s democracy.

“For different political parties to come together and form a mega Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is historic. It has never happened before in Nigeria; different political parties coming and jettisoning their selfish wishes and goals, shows that they have the collective interest of Nigeria at heart. APC in Nigeria is a phenomenon. It comes at a time Nigerians want a change; a change that will bring about development and a peaceful society”

Speaking on the chances of his Party winning the forthcoming elections, the Nsit Atai-born politician, who is also a former Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, said: “ gone are the days when there was no formidable opposition in the country. Nigerians did not have a better alternative, so the only thing that was presented to them, was acceptable as the best. But now, we have a well acceptable opposition Party whose membership cuts across all the geopolitical zones of the country. We all know that Nigerians are tired of fourteen years of failed promises. So they are poised to vote out the PDP, and vote in the APC. I am confident that we shall sweep the entire country come 2015.

“All I want you to do is to go back to your different Units, Wards, and Chapters, and sensitize the people on the manifesto of the APC. We shall spring surprises at different levels of elections, even up to the Presidency. Very soon, I shall make known the account of my stewardship, so that those who are saying that the APC is not doing anything would be ashamed”.
